Writing The CV For Jobs Vacancies

When hunting for a job it can often be a very competitive and often hard situation to be in. Here are a few tips to help you get the edge in searching out and landing the job of your dreams. The first thing to remember is to relate your CV to the jobs vacancies and not present a general piece of information on yourself.

The CV
When you apply for jobs, your CV will be the most important tool you have to use. Since potential employers have to whittle down practically hundreds of applications to a few valid ones, they will have to base their narrowing down efforts using the CVs they have collected.

Studies have shown that about half of the employers decide to accept or reject job applications based on the related work experience listed in the CV. Another third of all employers will take the layout of the CV into consideration when choosing who to give an interview to.

1. Make The CV Concise
Avoid making your CVs too long. It will turn the employer off reading it. If an employer has to spend ages reading a CV they will reject it. If your CV shows that you value his/her time while showing the most relevant information in the least amount of time, you will have won one important battle.

2. Always tailor your CV to the job.
Do not list any previous work you have done where it is not relevant to the role you have applied for. Some people keep many different versions of their CV for different job opening purposes. You need to present information that is appropriate for the particular job. If you list general jobs that have all been in different sectors the employer will think that you are not too bothered about which industry you get a job ib.

3. Your Achievements
If you have non-work achievements that show skill or experience use these but not just for the sake of it. Making the most of your experiences is good but do not big yourself up without backing any statements up. however make sure you do not list any weak points to your job skills as this will make you stand out for the wrong reasons.
