One of the first things that every backpacker in Sydney is most considering, is the best place to obtain a beer after a tough day of sightseeing! We have complied a list of the top 10 live music in sydney, bars, wineries, hotels, and general alcohol-based venues to look at if you’re travelling to Sydney.
The neighborhood Taphouse
The decor will be described as being much like an English pub. The Local Taphouse has a huge array of different drinks, food that is scrumptious but not ridiculously expensive, and a good mix of melodies on the sound system. They also provide theme nights, such as Beer and Chinese, Beer Diva, etc … so if you like beer, this is the venue for you!
Durty Nelly’s
If you can successfully ignore the noisy, drunken Irishmen (many backpackers in Sydney consider these people part of the charm, though!), the food here is referred to as ‘luscious’. There is nothing too fancy – if you’re into good steak and a great selection of beers, you won’t be disappointed.
Riverview Hotel
The Riverview Hotel is one of several heritage-listed pubs within easy reach of your city core backpackers in Sydney. It charges itself as a mixture of ‘old world charm and contemporary cuisine’, and the punters concur. Most comment that it is ‘unpretentious’; ‘polished but not snobbish’; and always ‘delicious’!
Brass Monkey
How can you resist a reputation like that?! Brass Monkey’s emphasis is music and drinks – they do assist food, but due to the comments that ‘I believe the food is just so they are able to have a liquor license’, there’s a chance you’re best advised to eat at your Sydney backpackers before you occur!
Shakespeare Hotel
The meals offer ample, well cooked acts … and cost around $10! The menu has something for anyone – if you are simply looking to get out of your hostel for a little while, Shakespeare Hotel is the place to go.
Red Oak Boutique beer cafe
Beer connoisseurs will like Red Oak. It’s npt simply a choice between lighting and heavy – you can find framboise, Belgian chocolate stout, real Guinness, blackberry hefe … not a VB may in sight. They also have sampling boards that complement the brews, but manage to stay extremely down to earth.
Water Bar
The dwelling is probably one of the most stunning features of the Water Bar – great ambience and an extremely chic design. They have got a great cocktail selection, and plenty of platters available to share. Drag some of the other backpackers from your Sydney hostel along along.
Lord Nelson Brewery
The building is supposed to be haunted … maybe that’s why you get into such a ‘dead’ sleep after having a good night at the Master Nelson! This is a real persona pub – these people have a range of boutique drinks brewed specially for the venue which are universally awesome.
Madame Fling Flong
Another one to visit purely for the initial name! This is a ‘couch bar’ together with delicious tapas and desserts and an exciting atmosphere.
Bambini Wine Room
Vey much centered on the wine – you will find 20 or so wines available by the glass, and complimentary snack platters regarding breadsticks, olives and nuts. Thursday and Fri nights get very busy – head out on a weekday to avoid the actual crowds.
