As technology changes, believe it or not, so do candles. Today, there are more ways to make candles than there was say about a decade ago. Of course, they all do the same things, but they just do it differently. I dare not say better, because sometimes, it is far from better. I have not used many glass oil filled candle holders, but I have heard that they are popular and extremely efficient.
A glass oil filled candle holder used oil instead of wax, but is still lit by a wick as are others candles. These are supposed to last longer, and produce less smoke than normal candles. However, I cannot completely understand how this would work, and be better than a traditional candle. This is a personal choice, and I am sure there are those of you out there that would disagree with my viewpoint. However, below I will mention a few reasons I have found that may be why glass oil filled candle holders are gaining in popularity.
1. One reason I think people prefer glass oil filled candle holders are that they are more efficient than normal wax type candles. You get a better burn, less pollution, and less hassle. This means you can put the glass oil filled candle holders in different locations you would not usually find appropriate for wax type candles. I do suggest you use caution as you do with any candle regardless of the material used for the candle.
2. Another reason I find glass oil filled candle holders to be more popular is that they tend to release more aroma. I find that many people enjoy an extremely strong smell for their candles. When you use glass oil filled candle holders you are able to get a much stronger smell that lasts for considerably more time. However, you may not enjoy such a strong aroma. That is okay, because you will be able to control exactly how strong the smell is.
3. Another reason glass oil filled candle holders are popular is because it makes candle making a whole lot easier. Nothing is as easy as finding a glass container, adding and securing a wick, then pouring in scented oil. This means you spend a lot less time with your candle making. However, I must state that they do not package as well unless you have a sealed container.
4. Another reason for using the glass oil filled candle holders is that they are a cleaner burn. Usually, these are sealed, and the wick pokes out like a oil lamp. This means the oil is in a secure container and you are burning solely the wick. If you make sure your wick is pure, what you get as a burn off is only that wick. The wick soaks up the oil and burns. Perfect for low emissions of the candle burning process.
If you like candles, you should definitely give glass oil filled candle holders a try. I am not saying you will or will not like them, but it is definitely a high tech option to the traditional wax candles.
